12 PLANTS AND SPICES

GIN  XII

ABOUT

GIN XII

Gin XII is craft distilled from twelve plants and spices in a plate column still, creating a subtle range of aromas.

Gin XII owes its name to the twelve plants and spices that go into its creation. It is characterized by fresh, minty, floral, slightly spicy notes and a beautifully lingering finish. A dry gin with a rich, authentic taste, born of a long period of research and reflection.

Gin XII takes full advantage of its Haute-Provence terroir and its subtle blend of herbs such as thyme, rosemary, basil, eucalyptus, sweet almond and mint, which join forces with small juniper berries to express the aromatic intensity of a stroll through the garrigue!

THE DISTILLERY

Distillerie de Lure, founded in 1898 at Forcalquier, in Provence, knew a succession of owners for nearly 80 years, amongst whom was Henri Bardouin, a man with a passionate interest in plants and herbs. Then in 1974 Alain Robert and his small team took the helm of the company now known as Distilleries et Domaines de Provence. Certain emblematic brands have existed since the first days of the Distillery, and other have been created over the years to correspond to the evolution in tastes and drinking habits.

Provance

PROVENCE

Since Antiquity, Provence is famed for the properties of its botanicals terroir and its subtle blend of herbs such as thyme, rosemary, basil, eucalyptus, sweet almond and mint, which join forces with small juniper berries to express the aromatic intensity of a stroll through the garrigue!

Gin XlI benefits from the soil and climate of Provence mountains, where windy, sunny conditions force each plant to generate more essential oil in order to survive, thus developing intense aromas.

Wild Juniper growing in Upper Provence is known to bear the most flavorful berries of all European Junipers.

Gin XII’s recipe was born of a long period of research and reflection. The choice of plants to accompany the juniper and the exact proportion of each come from a simple idea: to obtain a dry gin with a rich, authentic taste.

Gin XII is twelve plants and spices that express the character, typical style and aromatic intensity of a stroll through the garrigue!
