TASTING NOTES
THE FIRST IMPRESSION
The aroma of something powerful and fiery awaiting you. Thick, heavy woodsmoke. Rich, earthy peat. Extremes of spice and sweetness. Fresh lemon, zesty ginger, rich plum jam
THE FULL-ON FLAVOUR
An explosion of breathtaking peppery, peaty heat, soothed by honeyed sweetness, before the smoke comes to the fore again.
Exotic spices and a curious citrus tang of mandarin, both lulling you into a false sense of calm as the peat roars back to hit your senses again.

SMOKEHEAD SHERRY BOMB 48%
ISLAY SINGLE MALT SCOTCH WHISKY
ABV 48% VOL.
Smokehead Sherry Bomb is a peaty Islay single malt that has well and truly earned its name. Blasted by rich, sweet and spicy Spanish sherry casks, it has emerged as fiery, explosive, heavy hitting dram that has even turned our skull red.
It might well be the exact, highly unusual taste you’ve been waiting for. It might be a cannonball careering towards you that you’re keen to avoid. Either way, we’ve taken our ‘not for everyone’ mantra to a whole new level.
TASTING NOTES
THE FIRST IMPRESSION
Thick peat lets you know you’ve got a serious Islay single malt on your hands. Then a fruitier, creamier feel – soft rich oak, soothing custard and vanilla. But don’t get comfortable – this is only the beginning
THE FULL-ON FLAVOUR
Tie yourself down and wait for the hit of oily black smoke, with a rich, heavy mouthcoating peaty feel. Then along comes a sweet sticky flavour of barbecued banana (yes, really), tangy sultanas and dried fruits. Told you it was different.
The peat returns, just as you hoped/feared it would. This time it’s brought some authentic Spanish sherry oakiness with it, pleasingly and disturbingly sweet. And one last sharp salty reminder that you’re not dealing with the ordinary here

PEATED SINGLE MALT
100% MALTED BARLEY FROM A SINGLE DISTILLERY. DRIED WITH PEAT.
SMOKEHEAD ISLAY, SCOTLAND
Smokehead is a brand owned by independent bottler, Ian MacLeod. The whisky's popularity lies in its mystery as no one knows which Islay distillery it comes from, although persistent rumors suggest it starts with an A. Only 6,000 sleek black bottles of this single malt were produced. It's bottled at 46% ABV.
TASTING NOTES
"A subtle brine and peat smoke intertwine with a hint of rubber and a touch of varnish. The delicate nose also has a fruitier side with apple juice and grapes. The peat smoke on the palate is very soft. There's ash and tar, as well as smoked salmon, ginger, and a thin fruity layer. The finish is soft and gentle. Medium in length."
